🌱 Mango: The Tropical Fruit that Conquers the World

The mango (Mangifera indica) is one of the most appreciated tropical fruits worldwide, known for its sweet flavor, intense aroma, and juicy flesh. Originally from Asia, it found ideal conditions for large-scale cultivation in Brazil—especially in the state of Bahia.

Bahia is currently Brazil's largest mango producer, particularly in the São Francisco Valley, a region boasting a semi-arid climate, controlled irrigation, and advanced agricultural technology. This combination ensures premium-quality fruit, grown practically year-round, with much of the harvest destined for export to Europe, North America, and other international markets.

🌿 Nutritional Characteristics of Mango

Mango is not only delicious, but also highly nutritious. Its main benefits include:

  • Rich in vitamin A – essential for healthy eyes and skin
  • Source of vitamin C – a powerful antioxidant that strengthens the immune system
  • Minerals such as potassium and magnesium – important for cardiovascular balance
  • Dietary fiber – aids digestion and promotes satiety
  • Bioactive compounds – such as carotenoids and polyphenols, with antioxidant action
💡 Frozen mango pulp preserves flavor, color and nutrients, making it a practical solution for domestic and industrial use.

🌿 When is the Mango Harvest in Bahia?

The São Francisco Valley has a unique advantage: with irrigation and proper management, the region can produce mangoes almost year-round, ensuring a regular supply.

  • Main harvest: between September and March, with peaks in late spring and summer
  • Off-season: continuous production throughout the year, thanks to staggered cultivation
  • Exports: most of them go to Europe, with emphasis on countries such as the Netherlands, England and Spain.

World leader in soursop production

The southern Bahia region is a world leader in soursop production. The ideal climate for the species and increasing technological development allow for the development of fruits with high Brix content and balanced pH for the production of pulp, juice, ice cream, and yogurt. Producing large volumes with quality and regularity ensures your product remains on the market year-round. In addition to soursop, we process cupuaçu, cajá, and cocoa and serve companies that require processing of other fruits found in the region, such as acerola, pineapple, and passion fruit, which can be processed with the same level of quality and compliance with Ministry of Agriculture standards.

OUR COMMITMENT TO QUALITY

Graviola da Bahia is committed to sourcing only high-quality raw materials. We work exclusively with selected fruits supplied by people who are equally driven and determined to do the best. We reject the shallow thinking prevalent in some of the raw materials market, which holds that, for example, fruit pulping is only possible if water, sugar, and preservatives are added. Here, we sell only pure fruit.
