About Cupuaçu

Southern Bahia - Brazil

🌱 Origin and Botanical Identity of Cupuaçu

Native to the Amazon rainforest, cupuaçu belongs to the Malvaceae family, the same as cocoa. Its name derives from the Tupi-Guarani: “kupu” (cocoa) and “açu” (large), meaning “large cocoa”. The tree, known as cupuaçuzeiro, can reach up to 15 meters in height and produces oval fruits with brown skin and white, aromatic and acidic pulp.

🌿 Features of Cupuaçu

Cupuaçu is rich in:

  • Vitamins: A, C, B1, B2 and B3
  • Minerals: Phosphorus, calcium and potassium
  • Fatty acids: Oleic, stearic and palmitic
  • Antioxidants: Polyphenols and flavonoids

These components give cupuaçu anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and energetic properties.

Our cupuaçu pulp is obtained from fruits from orchards of integrated producers, all located in Bahia, in our region, where Cupuaçu production is abundant.

Each integrated product follows a specific agricultural calendar proposed by us, aiming for quality, such as ideal brix and pH.
